The Town encourages residents who may have any initial thoughts and input on the draft proposed Municipal Plan and Development Regulations to send them to us at [email protected] or to the Town Office, located on 1119 Thorburn Road. Your feedback is crucial in shaping the future of our community and will be of great value to staff and council as we review and reflect-upon the draft documents together throughout the summer.
The review of public input will begin after Friday, June 28, 2024. We understand that engaging with the community and gathering comprehensive feedback takes time and we would like to clarify that the consultation period for residents to submit comments extends beyond June 28th and no deadline has been set for the close of public consultations. We expect to continuously receive public input all summer long as residents take the time to review the draft documents and engage in conversations with each-other and the Planning and Development Department. Our intent is to ensure that everyone has ample time to review the draft and provide thoughtful feedback. We believe that every voice matters, and this extended comment period allows for more inclusive and diverse input, ultimately leading to a more robust and representative Municipal Plan. Thank you for your participation and commitment to our town’s future!
This is an early step in a comprehensive process (as outlined in the provincial Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000) and there will be additional opportunities for interested persons and community groups to provide input during the complete review process. In addition, residents can find a flyer in their mailboxes as of Monday, June 10th, 2024 that outlines the information to attend the public information sessions.
