Tree Lighting and Gingerbread Contest Going Ahead Tonight, November 26, 2019

The Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s Annual Tree Lighting and Gingerbread Contest is a go for tonight, Tuesday, November 26th, 2019. The festivities begin at 6:30pm in the Town Hall/Recreation Centre parking lot at 1119 Thorburn Road, with traffic delays in the area starting at 5:00pm. Parking areas are shown in the map below and attendees are advised to arrive early, as a large crowd is anticipated for this event. All are welcome to attend.

The Tree Lighting event includes festive Christmas songs, followed by our “dancing tree”, a brilliant fireworks show and delicious hot chocolate. Remember to dress for the weather as this is an outdoor event. Following the Tree Lighting Ceremony, join us at the Recreation Centre for the Annual Gingerbread Contest.

For those who are unable to attend the event, the Town will also be streaming the Tree Lighting and fireworks portion of the evening on the Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s Facebook page beginning at approximately 6:30pm. Be sure to tune in and enjoy the fun from home if you can’t make it out: https://www.facebook.com/townofpcsp/
