Town Office and Facilities to Close on Monday, September 19th, 2022
Town staff will be observing the closure announced by the Provincial Government for Monday, September 19th, 2022. This one-time only closure is in place to honour more than 70 years of service and dedication to the people of the province by Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
The Town Office and all Town facilities will be closed for the day, including the park washrooms and park huts. All recreation programs will not be going ahead for the day. Scheduled bulk garbage collection for Monday will take place on Tuesday, and regular waste collection will not be impacted as there is no regular garbage/recycling scheduled for Monday.
Flags at the Town Office are being flown at half-mast in Her Majesty’s honour until after her funeral on Monday. If anyone is interested in writing a message, a book of condolences for Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II is available in the main lobby of East Block, Confederation Building for residents to sign daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
