National Day of Observance to Honour Pandemic Victims

Today, March 11, 2021 has been designated a national day of observance by the federal government to mark the anniversary of the first death in Canada due to Covid-19 and to commemorate all those who have lost their lives due to the virus.

In recognition of the day of observance, the Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s joins many other municipalities across the country in lowering our flags at the Town Hall to half-mast today.

We know many essential workers live and work in our community and we are so thankful for the dedication these individuals have shown the past year to provide the necessary goods and services to keep us all healthy and safe throughout the pandemic. Thank you.
