Council Meeting Highlights: April 22, 2026

Proclamations

  • Two proclamations were signed by Mayor Dave Bartlett during this week’s Council meeting.
  • May 8 is recognized as World Ovarian Cancer Day, raising awareness and supporting those affected.
  • May 12 is recognized as Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, bringing attention to a condition that impacts many individuals and families.

Fire and Emergency Services

  • An update was provided on the number of calls for the first quarter, 75 dispatches. This number is on par with the growing demand for emergency response within the community.

Community Services

  • Easter Camp April 6th – 10th
  • First Light Training – Indigenous Cultural Diversity Training, April 7th
  • Best of PCSP Awards, Monday April 27th
  • Inclusion Summer Camp registration, Wednesday April 29th (residents only)
  • General Summer Camp Registration, Friday May 1st (residents only)
  • Business Coffee & Conversation – Let’s Talk Business, Friday May 8th
  • The Town has been funded $3,700.00 to help with Canada Day celebrations from the Celebrate Canada Funding program
  • Volunteer Week is being celebrated from April 19th to 25th

Corporate Services

  • Special Initiative Grant Policy was updated – a call for submissions for 2026 will be released shortly.

 

CAO Report

  • Community Garden – opening for registration to residents on Monday May 4th via eServices.
  • Municipal Awareness Day Celebrations – preparing to celebrate the roles of municipal governments, councils, and staff with the Grade 4 class of Beachy Cove Elementary.
  • As we begin to see warmer spring weather, residents are reminded to make sure they have the proper permits in place for projects they are completing, reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
