UV Sewer System
The Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s will be installing two UV Sewer Systems: one on the St. Philip’s side of the community, and another on the Portugal Cove side of the community. The installation of the UV Sewer Systems will be an infrastructure upgrade compliant with federal regulations, which will streamline operational maintenance and increase efficiency at our local Waste Water Treatment Plants.
The UV System intended for the St. Philip’s side of the community has recently arrived. A tender for electrical and mechanical installation of this system will be released early spring 2023. The St. Philip’s UV Water System installation will be completed before the end of the 2023 year.
A tender will be released for purchase of the UV system for the Portugal Cove side of the community in late 2022, followed by an additional tender for electrical and mechanical installation. The Portugal Cove UV Water System installation will be completed by late-2023, pending supply chain functionality.
