Outdoor Classroom
The Town of Portugal Cove – St. Philip’s is in the process of building an Outdoor Classroom on the Rainbow Gully Park Trail System.
The Outdoor Classroom will provide education on the environment in its natural surroundings. Local organizations such as the Advisory Committee on the Environment, Girl Guides, Scouts, our local schools, community programs and others can avail of the site for learning, meetings and more.
The space will allow for persons to observe the environment in its natural landscape, how things grow, move, smell, biodiversity and species of plants, animals, and insects that can be observed. Along with the many benefits to the wellbeing of all ages both physical and mental from being outside.
This project will complete in second quarter 2023.
