Winter Pedestrian Safety Reminders

Due to significant snowfall accumulation and in order to ensure the safety of all residents, we are advising everyone to use extra caution around our roadways in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s. This year’s winter conditions have resulted in high snow banks and reduced visibility for both drivers and pedestrians. We continue to widen roads and improve sight lines throughout the community.

Pedestrians are reminded to wear reflective clothing, especially while walking as it gets dark. Pedestrians are also reminded to be extra aware of your surroundings during these winter conditions, and always double check before crossing any roadways.

Drivers are reminded to reduce speeds and use extra caution at this time. To ensure everyone’s safety, please keep an eye out for any pedestrians or children who may be playing in the snow. Thank you for your cooperation.
