Virtual Public Information Session on Proposed Bio-Processing Facility (Liquid Fish Fertilizer)

The Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s held a Public Information Session regarding the proposed bio-processing facility (for production of liquid fish fertilizer) of NL Marine Organics and Windy Heights Farm at 374 Bauline Line Extension. The meeting took place on Monday, April 4th, 2022 at 7:00pm via Zoom

The Public Information Session included a panel presentation to share information and address frequently asked questions about the proposed project. Panelists included:

  • Anita Walsh, Director, Windy Heights Farm
  • Diane Hollett, Co-Founder, NL Marine Organics
  • Dr. Raymond Thomas, Principal Investigator, Marine Biomass Initiative, Grenfell Campus, Memorial University

The presentation was followed by a virtual question & answer period for those with additional questions not addressed in the presentation. The session will be recorded.

Please note: The virtual session was strictly an opportunity for information gathering. The session was solely a chance for those proposing the project to share details and answer questions posed directly to them. Based on the feedback and information presented at this session, council will be better informed to decide if they want to move forward with considering the project or not. If considered, then the complete amendment process would begin, including a series of public consultations.
