Local Youth Hockey Players Compete as Semi-Finalist for Good Deeds Cup

A hockey team from our region, the Northeast Eagles Peewee C All Stars, has been selected as a semi-finalist in the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup competition. Four of the players on the team are from right here in our community, Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s!

So far, the team has raised $21,500 for Rainbow Riders, a charity which provides opportunities for therapeutic horseback riding to children with physical, cognitive or emotional disabilities. Now, as a semi-finalist in the competition, the team has a chance to bring home an additional $100,000 for their charity.

We are encouraging all residents to watch the YouTube video below to help the team reach their goal of winning the competition. Of the selected semi-finalists (one from each province), the three videos with most votes move to the top 3, where a panel will decide who gets $100,000 for their charity.

Each view of the video counts as a vote, so be sure to share the team’s video using #GoodDeedsCup so that others can vote too!
