“Give Gabe a Lift” Fundraiser for Local Student
Our friends at the Portugal Cove- St. Philips Lions Club have generously created a fundraiser auction beginning this Friday, June 11th, 2021 in support of a local student in need, Gabe Tucker.
Gabe was born with a genetic condition called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). This causes the muscles in his legs to weaken and waste and is restricting his mobility. Gabe relies on a wheelchair more and more every day and eventually will have the total inability to walk. All funds raised through this auction will be used towards the purchase of a Braun side entry fold out conversion ramp for the family vehicle. This will make the transition in and out stress free for both Gabe and the individual that has to move him.
The purchase of a Braun side entry fold out conversion ramp, allowing wheel in/wheel out access is $42,255.
