2021 Road Upgrades

Road Upgrades Beginning on Monday, August 9th Throughout Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s
Motorists can Expect Traffic Delays due to Road Work

Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s, NL – Residents and motorists are advised that further road upgrades throughout the Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s will commence on Monday, August 9th, 2021. This road work is expected to be completed by the end of Fall 2021. Throughout the road upgrade process, traffic delays can be anticipated in all areas of construction.

Upgrades will take place on the roads listed below:

  8. Balda Place
  9. Beavercreek Road

  13. Bradburys Road
  14. Round Pond Road
  15. Franklyn Place
  16. Salty Place
  17. Legion Road
  18. Merrywood Estates
  19. Nice Lane
  20. Kings Hill
  21. Drukens Lane
  22. Hogans Pond Road
  23. Olivers Pond
  24. Hogans Pond Ext
  25. Prince George Drive
  26. Parrott Place
  27. Johnathan Heights
  28. Abbotts Road
  29. Dans Road
  30. Powers Road

As a reminder, construction will also commence on Indian Meal Line on August 9th, 2021. The section of Indian Meal Line from Portugal Cove Road to Blagdon Hill will be reduced to one lane. This partial closure will accommodate the installation of water and sewer infrastructure. Residents are advised to seek alternate routes and avoid Indian Meal Line if possible.

The Town’s Public Works department would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation as crews work to make these necessary roadway improvements. Residents are reminded to drive slowly and carefully through all work zones.
