Town of PCSP Donates Fire Department’s Old Rescue Unit to Rovers Search and Rescue
This week, the Town Council of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s was pleased to donate the PCSP Volunteer Fire Department’s old rescue unit to Rovers Search and Rescue. At the Council meeting on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019, representatives from Rovers Search and Rescue were presented with the keys for their new unit.
Rovers Search & Rescue is a volunteer organization who work with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary when the need arises to search for assistance with rescue tasks, including lost or missing persons in or about our town. Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s is very appreciative of the efforts, commitment and work of the volunteer members of Rovers Search and Rescue, not only within our town as the need may arise, but also the greater North East Avalon Peninsula.
