Temporary Reinstatement of Open Air Burning

In consultation with the Department of Forestry and after careful review of the Environment Canada forecast for this week, the Town has decided to temporarily lift the open air burning restriction for the remainder of this week.

Permits may now be issued from the Town Hall and the period of validity will be established in consultation with the applicant.

The Town will continue to monitor conditions in conjunction with Forestry officials as well as continue to follow the Department of Fisheries and Land Resources updates online through the Fire Hazard Map:

If you are planning any open air burning or have any questions regarding burning permits, please contact the Fire Department at 895-5673 or 895-5663; or contact the Town Hall at 895-8000.
