Road Upgrades Beginning on Monday, October 5th Throughout Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s
Motorists can Expect Traffic Delays due to Road Work

Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s, NL – Residents and motorists are advised that further road upgrades throughout the Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s will commence on Monday, October 5th, 2020. This road work is expected to be completed by the end of the 2020 year, dependent on weather conditions. Throughout the road upgrade process, traffic delays can be anticipated in all areas of construction.

Upgrades will take place in the order listed below, beginning with Fitzgerald Place on October 5th. Daily updates on the construction schedule and locations of anticipated delays will be provided online at: https://pcsp.ca/fall-construction-2020/

  1. Fitzgerald Place
  2. Carson’s Road
  3. Marian Place
  4. Dogberry Hill Road Extension
  5. School Road
  6. Cayman Drive
  7. Georges Road
  8. Hammond Estates
  9. Hussey’s Road

As a reminder, construction is also ongoing on Tolt Road. The section of Tolt Road from Thorburn Road to Skinners Road will be closed until mid-December, except to local traffic. This partial closure will accommodate the installation of sewer infrastructure. Residents are advised to seek alternate routes and avoid Tolt Road if possible.

The Town’s Public Works department would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation as crews work to make these necessary roadway improvements. Residents are reminded to drive slowly and carefully through all work zones.
