Public Consultation – Development Regulations Amendment No. 17, 2021 (Municipal Highway Sign Regulations)

The general public is invited to view a draft copy of the Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s Development Regulations Amendment No. 17, 2021.

Development Regulations Amendment No. 17, 2021 proposes to amend the Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s Development Regulations to introduce municipal Highway Sign Regulations, which would include Regulations to control illuminated signage such as changeable message signage. The purpose of this amendment is to satisfy the Department of Transportation & Infrastructure’s requirements to allow an exemption for the installation of digital, changeable message signs under the provincial Highway Sign Regulations, 1999 which will now be controlled under the Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s Development Regulations.

Council encourages residents to view the Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s Development Regulations Amendment No. 17, 2021, which shall be on display from January 22 to February 1, 2022, on the Town’s website at www.pcsp.ca. The public can provide any comments or concerns on the proposed amendment to the Town Office in writing before Council considers proceeding with adoption.

The deadline for written comments shall be 3:00 pm., Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
