Congratulations to PCSP resident Dana Klarer, who was awarded the Kubota/CFL Community Hero Challenge Award in recognition of her volunteerism in our community of Portugal Cove-St. Philips and throughout the province.

The CEO of Kubota along with his team flew from Toronto on Monday, October 29th and presented Dana with flowers, balloons, a trip to the CFL Grey Cup on November 25th, and the title of the national winner of the First Kubota/CFL Community Hero Challenge.

Dana is the President of WINK (Women into Networking Kindness), a local non-profit organization known for their Breastless and Beautiful calendar fundraiser. The 2019 calendar showcases resilient breast cancer survivors of Newfoundland and Labrador. Funds raised from the calendar will enhance patient support programs for cancer patients in Newfoundland and Labrador through the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Centre Patient and Family Support Fund.

The Vice President of WINK wrote the following statement in the announcement of Dana’s award: “We all know of Dana’s big heart, her ability to take on several projects at the one time in order to help people and most importantly, her desire to make our community a place that we all can be proud of. We are so proud of you Dana. You are one of the most loving generous woman I know. I am proud to be called your friend.”
