The Town Council of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s would like to advise residents that the Indian Meal Line Water and Sewer Project will commence on Monday, August 9, 2021. The project will extend water and sewer services to the intersection of Blagdon Hill and Indian Meal Line. As a result of the project please expect traffic delays and consider taking alternative routes.
On August 9th residents on Indian Meal Line and Millers Road, that currently have water and sewer, will experience a water disruption in the morning until noon. This disruption will be temporary and is necessary to start the project. Residents in the affected area may notice some air in your water lines and discolouration when water service resumes. Please let your cold water tap run until the water is clear.
The section of Indian Meal Line from Portugal Cove Road to Blagdon Hill will be reduced to one-way traffic. This partial closure will accommodate the installation of municipal infrastructure.
This area has been identified for some time as a high priority for water and sewer infrastructure. The project is expected to last 8-10 weeks.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding as we improve the infrastructure and services to this area. If you have any questions please contact Charlie Hamlyn, Director Public Works at 895-8000 ext 232 or [email protected]
