Fire Ban Lifted for Jurisdiction of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s
Effective immediately, the provincial fire ban issued on June 16, has been lifted for the jurisdiction of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s. The provincial fire hazard rating remains low, and all previously issued permits are now re-instated. We thank all residents for your cooperation and patience during the ban and as always, we urge everyone to continue practicing fire safety and to follow all guidelines when using backyard fire pits or open flames.
Please remember – valid permits are required for any open-air fires. The PCSP Volunteer Fire Department will continue to monitor conditions and updates will be shared as needed. Follow the Portugal Cove – St. Philip’s Volunteer Fire Department on Facebook for more information and updates.
Enjoy the summer safely and responsibly!
