2022 Dr. Seuss Day Celebration Activities

Did you know? March 2nd is celebrated around the world as Dr. Seuss Day! March 2nd is a celebration of his life and works, as it was on this day in 1904 that he was born. What’s your favourite Dr. Seuss Book?

Celebrate with us through our THREE activities outlined below!


(1) Storytime in the Library

Join us for a special Storytime to celebrate the birthday of the famous and favourite children’s author, Dr. Seuss!

We will be reading some of Dr. Seuss’ most popular books, doing a Dr. Seuss themed craft and competition! Each child will also get their own Dr. Seuss themed loot bag.

  • Where: PCSP Library
  • When: March 2nd, 2022
  • Time: 10:00am-11:00am or 2:00pm – 3:00pm (only one time slot permitted per family, child and guardian must both be registered)
  • Cost: FREE

Register through eServices beginning on Friday, February 25th, 2022 at noon! Spaces are limited.


(2) At Home Activity Guide

Our recreation team have put together three fun activities for you to try at home today, inspired by Dr. Seuss.

Submit a photo of your completed Dr. Seuss inspired activity to [email protected] by Wednesday, March 9th (one week after Dr. Seuss’ Birthday) and all submissions will be entered into a draw for a PCSP Prize Pack + $25 value local business gift card!

(3) Creativity Contest

With Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 2nd, we want to see your creative minds in action!

Or an illustration!

We want to see your creative stories or designs inspired by Dr. Seuss! Create your own poem, write a short story, or illustrate a Dr. Seuss poster for your chance to win a PCSP prize pack. To enter, email contest submissions to [email protected].

  • Deadline: The deadline to enter is Sunday, March 6th.
  • Brookside Intermediate Age Group: Create a poem or short story
  • Beachy Cove Elementary Age Group: Illustrate your best Dr. Seuss poster
