Seniors and Youth Knitting at Brookside Intermediate
The Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s in partnership with Brookside Intermediate, will be teaching students to learn how to knit as part of the Home Economics program. Over 4 to 6 sessions, the program aims to connect seniors and youth in our community while providing the opportunity for seniors to teach our youth a traditional skill.
The program was a success in 2024, and we received great feedback from both residents and students we’re excited to offer the opportunity again.
To ensure the program is a success, we’re looking for:
- Approximately 6 knitters
- Available for sessions during February and March (exact dates to be determined)
- 4 to 6 sessions total
- All materials provided (knitting needles, yarn, darning needles and scissors)
