Join us in Portugal Cove–St. Philip’s for our annual Regatta Festival, a week-long celebration filled with fun, community spirit, and tradition.

This year the Regatta Festival is taking place from July 1 to July 12! The week-long festival includes exciting outdoor activities and tournaments with family-friendly events and live entertainment – we’ll also have giveaways, and opportunities to explore our beautiful community!  We’re excited to celebrate Canada Day and Regatta Day together on the same day, making the festivities even more special!

To ensure the day runs smoothly and safely for all of our residents, businesses, and visitors, we have worked to create a temporary traffic plan for the area.

Please take note of the following traffic and access details for July 1:

  • One-Way Traffic Flow: To minimize disruptions and keep traffic moving safely, a temporary one-way system will be in place. Traffic will enter from Pendergast Road, follow Belbins Road, and head south on Thorburn Road.
  • Spurrells Road Closure: Spurrells Road will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the event. Please note that emergency vehicles and local residents will maintain full access at all times.
  • Boat Launch Closure: In close collaboration with the Harbour Authority, the boat launch will be closed from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm to facilitate event set-up and ensure spectator safety.
  • Staff on Site: Town staff will be stationed throughout the area all day to help guide drivers and facilitate a safe, easy flow of traffic.
