Climate Action Community Workshop
Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s is working with consulting firm McAllister & Craig and 13 other municipalities in Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia to develop a Climate Risk Assessment and Prioritized Adaptation Plan for the Town.
Climate change is already affecting communities through stronger storms, heavy rainfall, flooding, coastal impacts, extreme heat, wildfires and power outages. We want to hear about what these changes could mean for you and your community.
Join us for an interactive and welcoming conversation where you can:
- Share your experiences with climate-related hazards.
- Identify the homes, roads, businesses, public spaces and services that are important to your community.
- Discuss which climate risks concern you most.
- Consider who may need additional support before, during and after an emergency.
- Share ideas about what should be protected and addressed first.
You do not need to be a climate expert. There are no wrong answers—your experiences, concerns and ideas matter.
Your input will help shape how your community prepares for climate change and works toward a safer, stronger and more inclusive future.
