Advance Poll (Election)
Consider Municipal Politics!
Municipal government matters far more in our daily lives than most people imagine. Though you might hear more about Provincial and Federal Governments, it’s the Municipal Government that is on the ground with the people.
Getting involved is a personal decision for each candidate. Whether it is the beginning of a career as a politician looking to begin change at a grass roots level, or it’s because as a community member you want to be active in the changes that affect you personally, it can be different for every candidate. Everyone should take time to discuss with family before running, as you no longer are a private citizen, but a public figure for the community. This is not to discourage, as becoming a municipal councilor is a rewarding and positive role to take.
If you have any questions regarding running, please contact Claudine Murray at 895-8000 ext. 223
